Abigail Lane was born in Penzance in 1967 and was one of the exhibitors in the 1988 Damien Hirst-led 'Freeze' exhibition. Having studied at Bristol Polytechnic and Goldsmiths College, London, Lane exhibited her first solo show in 1992 at Karsten Schubert, London. With a preoccupation with the fantastical, her work shows unsettling images, which explore the psyche. Lane moved to Suffolk in 2007, where she continues to work.
