George Osodi is a Nigerian photographer whose photographs range between photojournalism and artistic documentary, closely observing social, economic and ecological processes of exploitation. He was chosen to be part of the prestigious Documenta art fair in 2007 and has appeared in museums and biennials around the world including Biennial Del Fin del Mondo, Argentina, Centre de Cultura Contemporania, Barcelona, Museu da Gravura Cidades de Curitiba, Brazil, National Museum of Cotemporary Art, Oslo and Akademi der Kunste, Berlin and til 2013 at International Slavery Museum, Liverpool. This image is from his book published by Trolley ‘Delta Nigeria - The Rape of Paradise’ in 2011, and shows militants at work against the international oil companies.
