Harland Miller was born in Yorkshire in 1964 and graduated from Chelsea School of Art with an MA in 1988. As well as being an acclaimed writer, Miller practices as an artist and is probably best known for his giant canvases of Penguin Book covers. The titles are sardonic statements about life and the images are humourous and nostalgic. Group exhibitions include the Royal Academy, London (2006, 2005), Kunsthalle, Mannheim (2004) and the ICA, London (1996). Miller lives in London.
